The setting of A Space Odyssey takes place in a futuristic, sci-fi adjacent universe where the deep of space provides the safest haven for stowaways, runaways, and criminals. The ship is named The Pontifex, aka. the "Bridge Builder", for its constant travel. Always making new connections to worlds in its search of supplies, work and, more importantly, to avoid the intergalactic police. There are countless civilizations boasting peoples and creatures of all kind. Some societies are acutely aware of each other's existence, while an isolated few are still of the belief they are the lone sentience in their galaxy. With the growth of magic and technology, there is an ongoing struggle to control it all. Wars are waged and lives are lost. Empires rise and fall. And nestled somewhere in between the chaos, a lone ship rides for its independence.

[ O v e r v i e w ]

 

The Pontifex originally began as a group of ne'er-do-wells who grew tired of the oppression of their various governments and banded together to stand for their freedoms. They grew from their local robin hood roots into a vast organization of unsavory characters who collect bounties to fuel their carefree lifestyles and ship across the galaxy. It is a vessel shrouded in both rumor and mystery. Are they freedom fighters or low-life space pirates? Whichever they are, you have heard wind that the Pontifex is seeking new recruits for their cause. Different backgrounds, different stories but the same ideals.  All shedding old lives in pursuit of a new.
